John Paul GormanI have been involved with cars for as long as I can remember, building custom cars for myself, friends and customers in the late 70's early 80's. In 1984 I started working for MLP, a rally preparation company in Carlisle, where I worked on the Ford RS1600 Escort Turbo, Peugeot T16, Ford RS200, Ford Cosworth Sierra / Sapphire and the Ford Escort Cosworth Group A and Group N Rally Cars. In 1996 I went to work for Malcolm Wilson Motorsport on their Group A Escorts. With a successful year in 96, Malcolm secured a deal with Ford for their rally program for 1997. The company was renamed M-Sport along with the introduction of the new Ford Escort World Rally Car. In 1998, M-Sport and Ford set up a test and development team at Millbrook Testing Facility to work on the Ford Focus Rally Car and I was lucky enough to be part of that team. 1999 saw the launch of the all New Ford Focus World Rally Car, taking its first victory on the Safari Rally and then the Portugal Rally. For me it was then back to Millbrook to help develop and test the Focus for the next season. From 2000 I was in charge of the test car, working with the engineers and making sure all of the new parts were properly built and fitted. I left M-Sport in 2004 as Senior Test and Development Technician to start a new career back in Glasgow. Motorsport became a hobby again and gave me time to work on and build cars for family, freinds and myself. In 2005 I started a new venture, forming JPG Limousines, we have 2 stretched limousines and I am now offering my services to others.
These are just a few of the rally cars I have been involved in building over the years.
